Björn Óli Hauksson

Björn Óli was born in 1961. He holds a master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Ålborg, Denmark. Since 2000 he has been working in Kosovo, first as a technical specialist in development of buildings and equipment, and more recently as a specialist and supervisor of diverse projects in public administration.
Björn Óli Hauksson has worked for the past six years on the development of aviation in Kosovo, as the CEO of Pristina International Airport J.S.C and as a project manager there on behalf of the Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration and Isavia. He established the CARO - UNMIK Civil Aviation Regulatory Office in Kosovo, and thus has experience of managing a large international airport, with the concomitant professional and financial responsibility, policy-making, matters of organisation, environment, security and professional monitoring. Björn Óli took part, for instance, in the merger of companies to run the airport and terminal in Kosovo, and has been involved in developing a joint company in that context.
