Haraldur Ólafsson Job title:   Director, Air Navigation Service

Haraldur was born in 1960. He completed his basic training in air traffic control from the Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration school and the College of ATC in England in 1982. He pursued further studies in air traffic control at Bailbrook College in England in 1985. He has taken various management courses at Þekkingarmiðlun and the University of Iceland Institute of Continuing Education. Haraldur qualified in aviation accident investigation at the Southern California Safety Institute in 2007. From 1985 to 2002 Haraldur supervised the training of new personnel at the Civil Aviation Administration at Keflavík Airport. He was supervisor of the air traffic control tower at Keflavík Airport in 2001, and was head air traffic controller and managing director of the Air Traffic Division of the Civil Aviation Administration at Keflavík Airport 2002-9. As of 1 January 2009 Haraldur is Director of Air Navigation Services at Keflavík Airport Ltd.
