The Airport Service Quality survey conducted by the Airport Council International (ACI) places us at the top for the best airport in Europe category. Passengers commended us for our cleanliness, comfort, friendly service and easy accessibility of connecting flights. The ACI’s prestigious survey is the world’s leading airport customer satisfaction standard, with around 130 airports taking part.
We are of course very proud of this achievement, and know that in order to defend our title next year we must aim to do even better, as passengers travelling through the airport are used to our great service.

We have been named as one of only a few airports throughout Europe to sell tax-free products to both arriving and departing passengers, so if you forget to pick up those last minute bargains, never fear, you can rely on us! Our shopping area hosts eighteen various duty free shops, selling both well-known products and Icelandic designs, with prices up to 50 percent LOWER than most retailers. Confectionery items, liquor, cosmetics and tobacco are also widely available. In addition to this, due to the favourable rate of currency exchange, Iceland is becoming cheaper by the day for visiting travellers.

Icelandair will start services to and from Brussels in June 2010 with two flights a week, Mondays and Fridays. Icelandair started scheduled service between its European destinations and Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA) on July 22, 2009. Flights connect via Reykjavik, allowing passengers the option to stopover in Iceland at no additional airfare. Icelandair now offers four flights a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday) departing Keflavik Airport at 17:00 GMT and arriving at 16:45 local time in Seattle.
Working in cooperation with Alaska Airlines, this early arrival allows for a host of onward connections to destinations in the western United States and Canada, including Anchorage, Calgary, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Vancouver. Returning flights depart Seattle on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 15:30.
